PORT OF AÇU AND OCEANPACT SIGN CONTRACT FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION BASE AND OFFSHORE LOGISTICS IN THE PORT DEVELOPMENT

Port of Açu signed today, August 17th, a 25-year contract with OceanPact for the implementation of an emergency response hub in the port enterprise, in the North of Rio de Janeiro. The Brazilian company offers services in the areas of Environment, Subsea Operations, Logistics and Engineering. OceanPact will occupy an area of ​​29,300 m², with a reserve of another 16,250 m² for expansion.

 

 

The long-term installation proves the resumption of the oil and gas industry in the country and also Açu’s vocation as an offshore and subsea hub. Due to its privileged location, located in front of the Campos Basin and close to the pre-salt fields, Porto serves as the main base for leading companies in the O&G sector.

 

The contract also provides for the dredging and construction of a pier in the area leased by Oceanpact. “It is a client that is in full expansion capacity and has the largest inventory of response to offshore emergencies in Latin America. It will be another company building a pier in the most sought-after Açu terminal, which will result in an increase in vessel traffic, ”says Ricardo De Luca, director of Oil and Gas at Porto do Açu.

Açu is the main structuring project in Rio de Janeiro and has great potential for regional development. Today, with OceanPact, 14 companies are installed: Porto do Açu Operations, Açu Petróleo, BP Prumo, B-Port (Edison Chouest Group company), InterMoor, NOV, TechnipFMC, Ferroport, Anglo American, Dome, GNA, Estação Açu and Aeródromo Norte Fluminense (heliport).
