Port of Açu gets into the World Cup spirit with internal campaign for the tournament

Company associates can put on their jerseys and root for Brazil on Friday

NUUC3776.JPGDecorated with synthetic grass, Brazilian flags and even matryoshka Russian dolls, the Port of Açu got into the spirit of the World Cup! To foster team unity and the integration of many areas, the company set up an internal campaign that matches the abilities and competences of each associate with player positions in a soccer team, emphasizing the importance of communication, agility, easy interaction, focus on results and so on. These are the inspirations behind the hashtag #TimAçu.

In one of the actions for the World Cup, on Brazil game days, associates may watch the games and root together for our country. The first meeting inside the company will take place on Friday at 9am, when the Brazilian squad faces Costa Rica in Saint Petersburg.

IMG_8340.JPGChristina Barros, Human Resources specialist at the Port of Açu, believes that the Cup vibe will motivate the entire group even more: “Our idea is to bring the tournament’s cool atmosphere to the corporate environment and promote a pleasant work routine that is engaged with what is happening outside, as people root for their teams. The messages of this championship — one that moves fans so much, especially the Brazilian fans — can only bring value to us,” she added.

In another action under the World Cup campaign, the Internal Communication area organized an office betting pool and a fuzzball championship among associates, with awards for the three top players in each. A finalist in the fuzzball tournament, Performance Management analyst Thiago Wigg was happy with the healthy competition inside the company: “It is an opportunity for us to interact with colleagues from areas with which we do not have so much contact in our daily work. In between games, we can share more with people,” he said.

IMG_8333.JPGThe campaign also encouraged different teams to decorate the workplace. To cheer up the fans, everyone was given a backpack, buttons, fliers listing all World Cup games, a theme pen and official shirt for #TimAçu. Now we hope that the energy of our fans in their debut in the workplace will give more luck to the Brazilian team than they had on their first game last Sunday. Go Brazil!
