Port of Açu participates in international port sustainability event

The complex will be the only Brazilian representative in the gathering in Belgium

The development of actions to shape a sustainable supply chain in the international port community is the main goal of the World Ports Sustainability Program (WPSP), taking place on March 22-23, in Antwerp, Belgium.

The program is based on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals drawn up by the United Nations. WPSP will discuss five essential themes: future-proof infrastructure, climate and energy, societal integration of ports, safety and security, as well as governance and ethics.

The Port of Açu will be the only Brazilian representative in the event. José Magela, CEO of Prumo Logística (the developer and operator of the Port of Açu), will participate in the panel “Communities and Innovation: Working together towards sustainable maritime freight transport,” on Thursday (22).

The World Ports Sustainability Program (WPSP) was initiated by the International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH), and developed in cooperation with regional and international port-related organizations. This edition will be held in the Port of Antwerp, a strategic partner of the Port of Açu.
