Local entrepreneurs start course supported by the Port of Açu

Empretec, a methodology developed by the U.N., will be offered in São João da Barra until Saturday

The program focused on local entrepreneurs and businesspeople and supported by the Port of Açu started today in São João da Barra. The course developed by the United Nations is offered by Sebrae (Micro and Small Business Support Service) in Brazil and has already reached 250,000+ people in the country. It focuses on the development of entrepreneurial behavior and identification of new business opportunities. This first edition in São João da Barra has 29 participants. Thanks to the support provided by the Port of Açu, the city’s entrepreneurs are paying half of the regular fee to attend.

Empretec SJB 1.jpegSupply manager João Kapiska discussed the Port of Açu’s involvement in Empretec. “We are very pleased to make this kind of investment, focused on local demand. To prepare local workers is to contribute to the region where we operate. Our wish is that, by the end of this one-week immersion, participants will be ready to conquer their space in the market,” he said.

During the week, personal development and management techniques will be discussed and put into practice, offering a new perspective of the corporate world and encouraging personal characteristics such as leadership and innovation.

According to the regional coordinator of Sebrae in Rio de Janeiro, Gilberto Soares, the seminar will offer participants an innovative view of how to manage their businesses and self-confidence to compete in the market. “At this moment, it is very important for businesspeople to get depth on concepts such as planning, calculated risk, pursuit of opportunities, persistence, commitment, setting goals, seeking information, networking and self-confidence. All these concepts will be addressed during Empretec,” he explained.
