The Port of Açu held today the 3rd Maritime Broker Meeting on the enterprise, in São João da Barra. In addition to officials of companies that already have facilities in the Port Complex, the event was attended by professionals working for about 30 maritime broker agencies that are operating or in pre-operational phase in Açu. As in previous editions, the goal of the third meeting was to bring closer the many parties involved in port operations and give them an update of the current situation on the enterprise.
This time, maritime brokers received information about the new process to access the port, which will speed up entry of people and vehicles to each company with facilities in the Complex. Visitors also got updated information about Gás Natural Açu (GNA), which is developing a gas hub on the enterprise; Açu Petróleo, in charge of transhipment operations in the port; and the Port of Açu Multicargo Terminal (T-MULT), which handles pet coke, coal, bauxite and general cargo.
According to Mario Rodrigues, Navigation Manager at the Port of Açu, bringing maritime brokers and the enterprise’s workers closer is key: “We are very pleased as we got to the third edition of this meeting planned by the Port of Açu. Having close relationships and sharing information with everyone involved in operations will contribute a lot to the efficiency of the work carried out daily in the Port Complex,” he added.
Wilson Sons maritime broker Gevaldo Bianchi, who attended all three meetings sponsored by the Port of Açu, believes that the company’s effort to foster unity among these professionals is very productive: “We take a lot from these meetings because it is a way for us to understand what is happening on the enterprise, get answers to our questions, and present our ideas. It is also interesting to meet in person those who we work with day in and day out,” he added.
