The Oil Terminal at Port of Açu is responsible for more than 30% of Brazil’s crude oil exports handled through terminals
Oil Terminal
The Port of Açu has established itself as an efficient ecosystem for the handling of liquid bulk cargo and energy in Brazil.
With deep-water draft and the capability to accommodate the world’s largest vessels, the Oil Terminal (T-Oil), operated by Vast Infraestrutura, is a benchmark for crude oil transshipment operations (double banking). Located in a breakwater-protected area and equipped with containment barriers, the terminal combines safety, operational efficiency, and high availability to meet market demands.
T-Oil features three state-of-the-art berths: two capable of receiving Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs) with capacities of up to 2 million barrels of oil, and one dedicated to Suezmax vessels, with capacity for up to 1 million barrels. Recognized as Brazil’s largest oil export terminal, its robust infrastructure and operational efficiency help reduce logistical bottlenecks and strengthen the competitiveness of the country’s energy value chain.

Liquids Terminal
Also operated by Vast Infraestrutura, the Açu Liquids Terminal (TLA) was developed to meet the growing market demand for logistics infrastructure dedicated to the handling and storage of liquid products in Brazil.
With 200,000 m² of backland area, two berths, and a licensed storage capacity of 108,000 m³, the terminal reinforces the Port of Açu’s position as an integrated hub for the energy, logistics, and industrial sectors. Currently, TLA offers a wide range of operational support services for vessels, contributing to the efficiency and competitiveness of activities carried out within the port complex.
The facility is currently undergoing expansion through the construction of a tank farm designed for the storage of petroleum products, chemicals, and biofuels. Scheduled to begin operations in 2027, the project will expand the Port of Açu’s infrastructure offering for the liquid bulk sector, further strengthening its strategic role in meeting current and future energy market demands.
