Iron Ore Terminal
Porto do Açu is also home to Ferroport’s Iron Ore Terminal, the third-largest private iron ore terminal in Brazil, which has handled more than 100 million tonnes since operations began in 2014.
Iron ore is transported through a 529-kilometer slurry pipeline connecting Minas Gerais to Porto do Açu, where it is filtered, loaded onto vessels, and shipped worldwide through a terminal with a 20.5-meter draft capable of accommodating Suezmax- vessels.

Multicargo Terminal (T-Mult)
Multipurpose terminal that offers integrated solutions and has a draft of 13.1m able to receive Panamax vessels.
It handles more than 10 types of dry bulk, including fertilizers, copper, lithium concentrate, pig iron, scrap, bauxite, and other mineral bulk.
With a paved yard of 35,000m², the terminal operates 24/7 and is directly managed by Porto do Açu Operações. T-Mult is more than a loading and unloading terminal, it also offers additional services for the vessels.
To serve the growing demand, T-Mult has already implemented of a covered warehouse dedicated to special cargoes with 5,600m². The expansion has already enabled Açu to insert the Rio de Janeiro State in the map of the fertilizer logistics.
T-Mult is now expanding even more: it is doubling the customs bonded area to 360,000m² and inaugurating two new covered warehouses. One of them has 6,800m² dedicated to copper, an strategic mineral for the energy transition. The other has 7,600m² with potential to serve various cargoes, such as zinc, lithium, fertilizers, wheat, soybeans, sugar, salt and special steel products.

Iron Ore Terminal
Port of Açu also houses the 3rd largest private iron ore terminal in the country, Ferroport’s Iron Ore Terminal, which has already handled more than 100 million tons since the beginning of its activities in 2014.
